Are you looking for a non-surgical way to freshen and rejuvenate the skin on your face? Microdermabrasion treatments, a less aggressive approach than dermabrasion, make use of a minimally abrasive instrument to gently sand the skin, removing the thicker, uneven outer layer. This type of skin rejuvenation is used to treat light scarring, discoloration and sun damage and there’s even microdermabrasion for stretch marks.
Imagine a very fine sand blaster and you’ll get a picture of how microdermabrasion works. It uses microparticles, or a diamond-tipped wand, to slough off the top layer (epidermis) of your skin and stimulate new skin growth. This technique also helps to thicken your collagen, which results in a younger looking complexion. Collagen is a protein in your skin that’s abundant when you’re a child and makes skin appear taut and smooth. Collagen production declines as we age, resulting in looser, uneven skin.
There is almost no discomfort in microdermabrasion, meaning you won’t need a topical or local anesthetic and there is no recovery or downtime.
The award-winning Pristine™ microdermabrasion procedure offers patients a non-invasive and full scope exfoliation treatment that is comfortable and above all, a rewarding aesthetic experience. Since microdermabrasion is based on mechanical exfoliation, the results are immediately visible after the first treatment, making way for smooth, softer skin and a refreshed complexion
The skin is the largest organ of the human body and is the first to be exposed to the numerous external environmental factors, every day. Prolonged exposure to sun, stress and pollution take a toll on the skin’s condition and appearance. To strengthen and protect the skin, LaserTouch Aesthetics offers a unique long-term treatment method to reduce the appearance of sun spots, age spots, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring and skin pigmentation

Laser acne therapy
Photo dynamic Acne Treatment (PDT) also known as Photo dynamic Therapy or “ALA/PDT” or “Levulan with IPL” treatment is a new procedure that treats resistant, hard-to-treat active acne and acne scars. The procedure, combines Photo Genesis (IPL) or light and Levulan. Levulan is a special light-activated topical photosensitizing agent made of a 20% solution of Aminolevulinic Acid (ALA).
ALA is a “natural” product found in all humans throughout the body. Having acne can cripple social confidence in oneself; after all your face is your calling card. The battle against acne is ongoing and varied. Treatments include topicals that can be purchased at the local drugstore or dermatologist, chemical peels, and there are oral medications like Accutane. The problem that many who suffer from acne encounter, before treatment, is that none of the options above offer a permanent solution. In fact, many of the above techniques are actually bad for your skin.
At Calgary laser and beauty center, we employ a revolutionary technique called Isolaz™ Laser Acne Therapy that employs both intense pulsed light and suction. Isolaz™ employs a process called Phoneumatics that purifies your pores from the inside out.
The Levulan, which is a clear painless solution, is applied to your skin and left on for 15-60 minutes. The Levulan is absorbed by active cells like acne sebaceous glands, making the targeted acne cells more sensitive to the light. During the procedure, the ALA is activated with the use of Photo Genesis (IPL) light which is far more effective than blue light or other light spectrums. This combined interaction of the solution and the Photo Genesis is what gives rise to the term “Photo dynamic therapy
Treatments target and destroy acne activity leaving your skin smoother, and in many cases makes it possible to discontinue the use of antibiotics such as Accutane. Levulan has been used extensively for the treatment of a variety of different skin conditions including actinic keratosis, sun damage, and fine lines. Blotchy pigmentation are also improved because of the positive effect of Levulan and the light treatment. ALA/PDT treatments also have the ability to minimize pores and reduce oil glands, effectively treating stubborn acne vulgaris, acne rosacea
Prior to Photo dynamic Acne Treatment, the best available treatment option for resistant and cystic acne was Accutane. However, with Accutane there are many systemic side effects including birth defects, liver abnormalities, mood depression, and virtually all patients get dryness and night vision changes. Systemic treatments are any medications that are taken orally, injected or infused that affect the entire body system.
Photo-dynamic acne treatment provides a viable alternative to all types of acne treatment without having negative systemic effects.
What is the procedure for the treatment?
We always perform a consultation, skin evaluation and test patch before proceeding with the procedure. The Levulan is then applied to the area for 15-60 minutes. Goggles are then placed over your eyes for protection. When the pulse of light is delivered, you may feel a mild, brief pinching sensation. The actual treatment usually takes less than fifteen minutes, making it convenient for your lunch hour or after work.
What is different about laser therapy for acne versus other treatment therapies?
The most important differences between Isolaz™ Laser Therapy for acne versus other treatment therapies is that it offers immediate results that is good for the skin. Whereas topicals and oral medications can be very harsh on the skin, Isolaz™ Laser Acne Therapy is different. It is the only FDA-approved system that clears and purifies your pores from the inside out. It offers immediate drying and flattening of pimples within 24–48 hours post treatment. Isolaz™ Laser Therapy is effective on non-responders to traditional therapies including those who have tried topicals, or antibiotics. Clients will experience a significant decrease in the number, interval and severity of “break outs”. A decrease in the amount of oil production will start after the first Laser Acne Therapy treatment. Finally it offers a faster clearance of redness associated with breakouts.
How many treatments do I need?
Recommended number of treatments: We recommend 2-3 treatments at 2 to 3 week intervals for maximum results.
What should I expect right after the treatment?
Following the procedure, you may notice some initial reddening of the skin and brown spots may slightly darken. Do not go out into the sun for at least 24 hrs.
Any side effects?
Although patients experience few side effects, the most commonly noticed are slight reddening and local swelling of the skin. In rare instances blistering, scarring or pigment changes may occur. Special considerations are important when lasers are used on darker skin tones to allow for safe and effective treatment. No sun exposure for up to 24 hours after the treatment.
How does Laser Acne Therapy work?
Isolaz™ Laser Acne Therapy uses a combination of vacuum and laser technology to help destroy acne causing bacteria. It is the only FDA system cleared to treat comedonal and pustular acne.
Laser Acne Therapy will jump-start treatments, helping your skin absorb medicines and moisturizers better.
What areas can be treated?
Any part of your body that has a persistent problem with breakouts can be treated, including your face, chest, and back.
How many Laser Acne Therapy treatments will I need?
Just like our laser hair removal NYC treatments, a typical protocol includes six treatments spaced four weeks apart. More treatments may be necessary.
What kind of results can I expect?
Clinical studies show immediate results within 24-48 hours. In addition to drying and flattening of the blemish, Laser Acne Therapy reduces redness and clears skin discoloration. It also helps remove red and brown spots and tiny broken capillaries sometimes associated with rosacea. People who have used this treatment reported a visible reduction in pore size, and improved tone and texture for a radiant, healthier complexion.

What is laser therapy?
It’s simply pressure point therapy, like acupuncture. It’s a holistic approach to heal the body. A low level light pulse is directed at points on the face, ears and hands.
How laser therapy works
Low-level laser therapy operates on principles similar to the 5,000 year old ancient Asian healing art of Acupuncture. Acupuncture is known to reduce tension, increase circulation, and enable the body to relax more deeply.
Laser Therapy treatment is a noninvasive method used to balance the energy low between meridians. Laser therapy is considered a non-medical procedure. Treatment with low-level laser helps to promote the release of endorphins in the body. Endorphins are natural chemicals in your body that signal your system to decrease stress and increase energy. Energy points related to addiction are identified and treated with a combination of a helium neon laser and electrobiostimulation.
The entire procedure is external, non-invasive, and non-thermal. Laser Therapy is painless. During the laser treatment energy points on your hands, face, and ears are treated. If a client feels the sensation from the low-level laser, they may feel a warm, pulsating and sometimes tingling feeling. Some clients may only feel a calming sensation from the laser. The low-level laser acts as a tool to assist the client through the initial physical withdrawals from nicotine. The first 72 hours of quitting is considered to be the crucial detoxification period. The laser mimics a similar endorphin release for a period of 3-5 days following treatment, which aids in alleviating stress associated with giving up nicotine. The treatment has been used for over three decades in Europe and Canada.
What to expect after a treatment
The treatment is very relaxing and some people experience a degree of drowsiness.
How the laser is used
The laser is placed on various meridian and auricular points on the body around the ears, nose, hands, and wrists.
Low power laser light is completely safe. It is a bio-stimulation laser not a surgical laser. We are using the latest technology without needles, so it is totally painless. Your procedure will be given by a certified Laser Technician.

Cooling RF is radio frequency, which can penetrate epidermis into deep dermis. The radio frequency motivates water molecules to move at high speed, then produces heat and the temperature reaches to 45-65C. This leads to subsequent contraction of the collagen tissue and makes the loose skin and wrinkle tightened immediately. Moreover, the treatment effect causes collagen re-growth and reconstruction. Meanwhile, it removaes old and damaged collagen: realizes the immediate effect of the skin tightening, long-term wrinkle reduction and ease anti-aging.

intense pulsed Light is an incredible and relatively new process based on emitting high intensity pulses of light to penetrate the skin and eliminate a myriad of complaints. IPL is considered a non-ablative resurfacing technique. Different wavelengths are used for different levels or types of penetration and therefore relate t the different type of treatment available. In permanent hair removal, Selective Photo Thermolysis is what damages the follicle and causes it to fall out. The pulses of light target the melanin in the hair shaft that travel to the follicle, heating and destroying it. During skin rejuvenation the light pulse can target the hemoglobin for vascular lesions or the melanin for pigmented lesions. Not only does the treatment decrease age spots and capillaries, it also encourages new collagen growth to improve skin smoothness and reduce pore size and fine lines.

E-light is a high-intelligent and non-ablative technology that simultaneously harnesses the power of radio frequency (RF) and optical energy (IPL). Ultra optical energy causes the skin to initiate a natural healing process that rebuilds new collagen and removes broken capillaries and pigmented lesions. The radio frequency excites water molecules which the resultant heat decreases the pre size, tightens the skin and provides superior wrinkle reduction and smoother skin texture; usually immediately.

Medical lasers designed for removing pigment from skin work by producing one or more specific wavelengths of light. Tattoo ink is removed by using this specific wavelength of light, which passes into the skin, but is absorbed by the ink. The rapid absorption of light energy causes the tattoo ink to break into tiny particles, which can then be removed by the body’s natural filtering systems.
Whether your tattoo is professional, amateur (homemade), traumatic, or surgical, laser technology has advanced enough to treat all kinds of tattoos. Older techniques for tattoo removal such as dermabrasion, salt abrasion and Argon or CO2 lasers are less effective and often leave behind scars in place of the tattoo.
A typical scenario for the removal of a professional tattoo is a cycle of 5-7 treatments, while an amateur tattoo may require 4-5 treatments, all spaced approximately 4-5 weeks apart. The number of treatments depends on the amount and type of ink used, and the depth of the ink in the skin. Please schedule for a free consultation.
